Cancun, Day 2

10/21/2008

So, you may ask youself, why are we online when we´re supposed to be relaxing on our honeymoon? It´s raining! It´s probably 80 degrees outside, but it´s raining, which has turned the spas and pools at the resort into luke warm baths.

We arrived yesterday morning at around 11am, after flying in overnight. It was hot, and the skies were clear. We checked in, and had to wait for them to prepare our room. We played chess on a giant chess board, then had lunch at one of the resort restauraunts. Andrea had a quesadilla with only cheese and chicken (no surprise there) and Erik had a burrito. The view from the restaurant was amazing. The view from everywhere is amazing! We will have lots of pictures to share when we return.

Last week we hardly got any sleep at all with all the wedding planning, so yesterday afternoon we took a nice long nap.  There is a bed on the balcony that overlooks the ocean. It was warm but breezy outside.

For dinner, we ate at an Asian restaurant called Spice. It was really good. It´s weird not having to pay for dinner. The resort is all inclusive, so when you´re done eating, you just get up and leave. The food was so good, I want to go back and eat there again, but we may not have enough time to do so if we want to try all the other restaurants.

This morning, Erik woke up at the crack of dawn to play golf. When he returned, we had room service bring up some eggs, pastries, and iced tea. We´ve been drinking a lot of iced tea, because the soda just doesn´t taste right. I´m dying for an American Coke. We walked down to the beach and were thinking about going in the ocean or the pool, but then it started to sprinkle. Then, it started to pour.

So, now we´re online, trying to figure out which days to plan activities based on the weather forecast. It´s supposed to rain everday we are here, but the forecasts aren´t always reliable.

We´re still having fun, despite the rain. There are still things to do, and we´re making the best of the situation. You can´t walk 100 feet without coming across a bar. That´s a plus. We´re not big drinkers, but Anthony and Jeanette would be in heaven. :o)

Well, adios for now. We´ll update everyone some more if we get stuck inside again.

Love, Erik and Andrea
